The original transom window also had to be lowered to match the doors.
New jambs were installed so everything would be plumb and level after which the doors were built
using 8" V match Tounge and Groove which were screwed together,
not nailed, to give them more strength and durability.
Spring loaded latches at the top help keep the doors closed or to have only one open at a time.
